A few weeks ago, we praised eBay’s revamped (and decidedly Pinterest-inspired) appearance. eBay has also introduced a sleek new app called eBay Fashion, which gives mobile users even greater search options.
If you’re content with the way the current eBay app lets you search for clothing, you’ll find a similar experience in the Fashion app. But, for those looking for a specific piece, users now have greater control over their search results thanks to the eBay Image Swatch. The Swatch feature allows user to snap a pic of a garment, pattern or color that they love and then use it to search for similar pieces.
Once a Swatch search is performed, users can then narrow their search by selecting a specific category of clothing, like dresses or T-shirts.
Although the results aren’t perfect, it’s definitely a step in the right direction.
Of course, if you avoid the auction section of eBay, the Fashion app still gives you access to the Fashion Vault and Rue La La. Items are showcased in a familiar and easy to search format (thanks again, Pinterest) and easy to navigate. You can download the eBay Fashion app for iOS devices here.
