Remember those far away days of film and photo prints, you know, on actual paper? If you’re over the age of 20, you probably have a shoebox full of priceless photos from the past – the fun and embarrassing kind. The problem is, there is no quick and easy way to get these photos into digital format…until now.
The new app ShoeBox from 1000 Memories allows users to use their iPhone or iPad to create high quality scans of old photographs and then post them online. This is certainly an improvement to snapping a photo of prints – the app has crop, flatten, rotate, caption and date functions to improve the image quality. According to one customer review, ShoeBox is “definitely less painful than using a scanner.”
This application provides a much-needed function for generations that experienced awkward family photos in the pre-digital era. Let’s face it – not everyone has the time, money or willpower to send those shoeboxes of old photographs away to be digitized. ShoeBox provides a quick and mobile way to share precious mementos with family and friends.
