Dunkin’ Donuts recently launched its “Like a Boss” video resume generator, adding another app to its social media artillery.
Pretty epic, right?
The app, which is available through the brand’s Facebook profile, automatically generates a video resume for users to grant the app access to their information and photos. My resulting video is little more than a cheesy clips video, with a few unique-to-me facts thrown in (such as date of birth, full name and profile pictures) and epic theme music — featuring “You’re the Best Around” from the “Karate Kid” soundtrack.
Yes, the video is fun in a goofy kind of way, but it also offers users extra exposure to a new Dunkin’ product.
Dunkin’ also lets the user share his or her rockin’ video resume on Twitter, Facebook and, oddly enough, LinkedIn. It’s also automatically posted to the user’s Facebook timeline in an effort to spread the Angus steak and egg sandwich goodness (although I, admittedly, hid it from my timeline upon discovering it).
What do you think of Dunkin’s “Like a Boss” generator? Is it a clever approach to promoting a new product? Or is it a corny gimmick? Find us on Facebook and share your thoughts with us.
