Does Inselly Represent the Future of Social Commerce for Brands?

As the social world continues to expand, the ecommerce world continues to explore how the two can be integrated. In the past year, American Express and Twitter dabbled with the social commerce in the form of Amex Sync which allowed tweeters to buy a product simply by using a hashtag. Now, Inselly is integrating ecommerce with Instagram.

Once users have integrated their Instagram account with their Inselly account, they can easily list items for sale by taking a picture of the item and tagging it with the hashtag of #inselly. Browsers can then buy the items quickly and easily using Paypal. Items listed for sale on the site range from clothes to beauty products, and from vehicles to home decor.

Although the Inselly marketplace is primarily targeting private users and sellers, it could potentially open up a new world of social commerce for brands. Not only could such a tool designed specifically for brands (or a brand) make the buying process that much smoother, it could also help convert a brand’s Instagram following into paying customers.
